An Old Concept with a Twist

Weddings and walking down the aisle is certainly not a new concept. However having the bridal party dancing down the aisle is the twist.

The marketing lesson: don’t think you need to come up with something new for your next product or service. Look at what is being offered and then add your special ingredients. This is what we did with the marketing process and developed M4B Marketing Software. You could even borrow from other markets ideas and adapt them for your market.

You Need Co-Operation

Whilst this was the bride Jill’s idea, it would not have got off the ground if Kevin and the bridal party had not enthusiastically agreed to participate.

The marketing lesson: whether it is with your partners or your customers, you need to excite them with an idea and engage if you to enjoy marketing success.

You Must Know Your Target Market

There is no doubt that the wedding guests got involved as the dancing occurred and the bride and groom probably had an idea that they would enjoy this entrance.

The marketing lesson: You must know your target market and continue to build your knowledge if you are going to have long lasting customer relationships. Also a good surprise every now and then can spark the relationship and make your brand even more memorable.

Don’t Get Caught Up on the Marketing Tactics

This video was intended for the guests. It was only put on You Tube because the bride’s father wanted to share it with extended family. If the concept had not been great it would have ended up like all those other wedding videos on the internet, unseen by the majority of people.

The marketing lesson: If the concept is not special, then it does not matter what marketing tool or tactic you use. Get the concept, strategy and your marketing message right for your key customers and then think about the marketing tactics, not the other way round.

Simple Marketing Ideas can Work

This wedding entrance idea was so simple as an idea. It was not elaborate; it was not perfectly executed as you can see from some of the moves that were made up as they went down the aisle. As the momentum built, guests kept watching to see who would come next and you could see they wanted to watch what the bride Jill would do. As she danced down the aisle they cheered.

The marketing lesson: keep it simple if you want greater results and don’t wait for every thing to be perfect. Can you simplify the pricing, or the way you provide customer service or even the way you communicate with your customers?

There is no doubt many more marketing lessons from this video so it is over to you.

Apart from bring a smile to your face what marketing lessons can you add?

I agree with your idea on cooperation. Although you may have the best strategy or the most intricate marketing plan, the whole thing will never leave the ground if the whole team does not pitch in to (sincerely) help.

I think your mention of the word sincerely is key and this can also apply to even the smallest of companies working with their customers.
How to you get your team and/or clients to have sincere co-operation?
